Andrew Roffey

Head of Credit

Andrew has in excess of 35 years’ experience in the investment management industry, and is a specialist in corporate analysis, advising on small unquoted investments as well as managing UK and European equity and credit portfolios for large international institutions.

Upon graduating from Trent Polytechnic (now Nottingham Trent University) he joined Norwich Union, which is now part of the Aviva group, undertaking a series of roles which included sourcing and monitoring group investments in venture capital, which ranged from aero engine component manufacturers to filmmakers, setting up unit trusts and managing what at the time were the entire investments of the general insurance subsidiary.

After more than 17 years’ experience at Norwich Union Andrew joined Nikko Asset Management as a Senior Portfolio Manager where he was responsible for the control and strategy of European equity and credit portfolios for both domestic and international clients. He established the Group’s first European Credit Portfolio, with an emphasis on extracting an above average yield without compromising on asset quality. This portfolio exceeded the benchmark return from inception. With complete control over both asset allocation and stock selection in European equities he demonstrated an ability to extract superior returns in both stock and sector selection over 18 years and was a key member of the global Asset Allocation team

In October 2015 he joined Affirmative Investment Management as Head of Credit and has established the key credit parameters which will govern the selection of the investment universe for green and other use of proceeds bonds and monitors their subsequent financial performance.
